FATHERS ONLY
Weekly Coaching Sessions (Virtual and in-person)-
This will be a volunteer-based component that allows for a judge-free environment where the dads are supportive and forgiving of themselves and others. In essence, it is a safe space to help the dads with parenting skills, life skills, financial literacy workshops, medical/health empowerment, etc. The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
Jail Outreach
BAD become community liaisons in this outreach service as they “stand in” for the fathers who may have difficulties reconnecting with their children; as a result of serving time in jail or prison.
Bible Study
This weekly gathering allows BAD to keep God first in the process of becoming better fathers, leaders, and men. We take a theme and we search the bible and share our interpretations, testimonies, and strategies to apply principles to help us maintain our commitment to our God, children, and humanity.
Monthly Social Events –
Our monthly socials to be a business casual evening purposed to (1) invite all stakeholders (e.g., donors, BoD, Officers, selected Born Again Dads, etc.) to build a rapport with one another, and (2) be a form of entertainment.
Activities
FATHERS & CHILDREN
Sports Activities-
Our family events are located in a community park with multiple amenities (e.g., soccer, basketball, tennis, etc.) available for structured family activities. The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
Community Clean-Up Activities
This is our ongoing commitment to the community. The BADs lead our sons into underserved communities to pick up trash to beautify the area. This teaches our children to become upstanding citizens to keep their environment clean.
Opportunities for Parental Participations –
Our O.P.P. workshops are geared towards helping fathers get involved with their child(ren) school PTA.) The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
Family Night-
We prioritize family time. Family time serves as an opportunity to celebrate children for academic performance at school, leadership in the house and community, or just social bonding at places such as Movies, Main Event, Skate City, Ice Skating, Adventure Landing, etc. The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
Book Club-
Our book club choose an award-winning thematic book each month to read with our children to discuss the moral lessons that support real-life conversations that we must have with our children. The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
DAD on the GO-
DOG events are single day trips. This is another opportunity to prioritize family time. These are edutainment opportunities. While the BADs and families will learn fun facts about the world in which we live, they will also discover the fun! For example, DOG will take day trips to MOSH, art museum, St. Augustine, Savannah GA, Orlando, etc. The fathers will earn badges, patches, plaques, etc. for engagement.
